The first contribution comes from the indepenedent and relatively small label On-Point Records, that already brought us the excellent new Billy Palmier EP "When the Disco Balls Tells a Different Story".
The newest release is from the group "The Essence", which consists of dj SNS and JtotheC. Their "Debut EP" continues On-Point's (young) tradition of what I would probably call electronic boogie. Laid back beats, which somehow makes your body move nevertheless.

These: Hip-Hop ist die letzte Subkultur, die die Welt nachhaltig verändert hat.
Als es in den 70ern das Wort "Hip-Hop" so noch gar nicht gab und sich eine kleine Bewegung in der Bronx daran machte reihenweise Block Parties zu schmeissen, hätte sich das wohl keiner von ihnen ausmalen können, dass heutzutage - 40 Jahre später - die Mehrheit der Songs in den Top 20 Charts in irgendeiner Weise von Hip-Hop beeinflusst sind. Oder dass der Funke auch irgendwann mal auf Übersee überspringen könnte.
Wohin überall die Saat des Hip-Hops mittlerweile gelandet und gesprossen ist, wird das zentrale Thema der heutigen Sendung sein.
Gleichzeitig bedeutet diese Sendung auch einen kleinen Abschied, denn Diggin' muss eine kurze Pause von ca. einem halben Jahr einlegen - praktikums-/studienbedingt.
Deshalb schaltet ein letztes Mal zu Diggin' ein und seid dabei - ab 19 Uhr!
