The instrumental of the day of our previous show was by the producer duo Dapdown, that comes from Omsk in West Siberia. Today they released their first official EP under this name via their cloud. Morgen (07.03) ist es wieder soweit. Der erste Mittwoch im Monat bedeutet Scheibenreiben im Dumont, brought to you by ze Hochschulradio Aachen. Den März bestreiten die beiden Rückkehrer Ali und Denis mit gewohntem Funk und Hip-Hop, aber auch dem ein oder anderen elektronischen Beat.

Wie eine Google-Suche offenbart, hat dieses monatliche Ereignis vor einem halben Jahr so hohe Wellen geschlagen, dass sogar Serbien davon erfuhr. Also, lasst es euch nicht entgehen und beehrt uns mit eurer Anwesenheit. Die Plattenteller werden sich gegen halb 10 anfangen zu drehen!

Die halbjährige Abstinenz ist vorüber. Nach etwa einem halben Jahr Zwangspause werden wir uns erneut zusammenraufen um euch einen angenehmen Wochenendausklang mit reichlich schöner Musik zu liefern. Unser heutiges Thema hat etwas mit Hiphop (wer hätte es gedacht!), Jazz, Soul und Funk zu tun (soweit mir meine Quellen berichtet haben). Und nach so langer Zeit hat Denis unser Schatzjäger bestimmt den ein oder anderen grandiosen Song entdeckt und ausgegraben. Aber auch ich habe vieles gefunden oder wiedergefunden das sicherlich für mehrere Sendungen dienen darf.

Mehr wollen wir jetzt aber noch nicht verraten. Also lasst euch überraschen und schaltet heute Abend um 19 Uhr die gewohnte Frequenz des Hochschulradios Aachen auf 99,1 MHz (im Stadtgebiet AC) ein, oder verfolgt die Sendung via Livestream.

I don't know about you, my dear reader, but as for me and i am pretty sure for a couple of others as well, this time of year means studying for exams. The most important factor for a successful session is of course a decent soundtrack. I discovered some light & atmospheric Drum'n'Bass sounds for myself this year. The vinyl mailorder hhv.de is having its 10th anniversary this year. To commemorate this event, the good folks have thought of a couple of projects. One of them is a 7" series called "10 Years hhv.de 45", where they will exclusively press chosen tracks on said small vinyl record.
